Noelia Arroyo visits the municipality of Pliego to know the state of Winter Cinema and see the steps to follow for its rehabilitation
The Ministry of Culture and Portavocía has completed the restoration work of the Virgin of Remedios, patron of Albudeite, who will soon return to the parish church that bears his name.
This was announced today by the councilor and government spokesman, Noelia Arroyo, during a conference in which, in addition to Albudeite, he visited the municipality of Pliego to meet with the different municipal teams and deal with issues related to heritage.
Together with the mayor of Albudeite, Jesús García, the Minister of Culture visited the church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios and announced the end of the work done by the technicians of the Restoration Center of the Region of Murcia, which "will allow very soon Image of the Virgen de los Remedios, patron saint of the municipality, return home and be again admired and revered by all the neighbors.
"We continue to work to recover and maintain our heritage in the best possible conditions and the restoration of this beautiful image is a new example of the commitment of our president and the entire team of the Ministry of Culture," added Arroyo. The carving, dating from the seventeenth century, has been subjected in the Restoration Center to different physical and chemical processes to dissolve their layers and try to counteract some unfortunate retouches and overtones.
The damage and cracks of the image have been covered and its polychrome has been restored, although the original is irrecoverable.
Also, those contributions made by the sculptor González Moreno in the 20th century have been restored.
The head of Culture recalled that "the Restoration Center is one of the best prepared in the country, which is allowing, thanks to the latest technology, the most modern procedures and the work of its technicians, that our heritage, especially the religious, Look in the best possible state ".
A work, he added, "can also be admired these days, for example, in the exhibition recently inaugurated in Caravaca de la Cruz on the occasion of the Jubilee Year, as several of the pieces that are exhibited have gone through the workshops of the Community ".
Pliego tour
Noelia Arroyo also had the opportunity today to visit different spaces of the municipality of Pliego in the company of its mayor, Ramona Jiménez.
Places of special importance such as Calle del Agua, "a street of singular ethnographic interest, with mills, rafts and mills, and Castillo de las Paleras, both declared of Cultural Interest for their relevance and thus possess the greatest possible protection by Part of the Community ".
