We are in the final stretch of August and with it the patron celebrations dedicated to Our Lady of Remedies begin.
For me it is a pleasure to share with you these holidays, conviviality and caloric, that we have a lot of this summer for the Region of Murcia.
When we were invited to read the proclamation of the Albudeite festivities, we were excited to go to a municipality rooted in the Murcian garden for centuries.
We want it to remain that way but we cannot ignore that today Albudeite needs young people to stay in town.
The crisis made a dent in this municipality and here it was noticed in everything, especially in the decrease in the number of inhabitants.
We would like to recover the lost.
We want the albuiteros who marched in the hard years to return to the land that saw them be born and grow, so that the village of their parents and their grandparents is not only a memory of the past but that it offers them an opportunity in the present and the future .
We will work to make it so;
so that children and young people give life to our streets and squares and so that these parties are not only a meeting point from year to year, but the celebration of families and neighbors of a lifetime, making a stop to enjoy all together .
We are grateful that you have invited us to inaugurate the festivities of a municipality in which Murcia is breathed in every corner.
Few places in this Region have the charm of Albudeite;
of his skill with esparto and the extraordinary flavor of his kitchen, with its rich talvinas;
its carnival rice, the gachasmigas;
the rice with rabbit and snails and the 'pimpirrana'.
From this church that is a local jewel, declared of Cultural Interest;
of this square that shows the crown of the 'Marquesado de Albudeyte', made and ceded by the albuitero Francisco Sánchez, whom we all affectionately know as Paco El Tornillos.
Here you have preserved for more than five centuries until the accent and intonation.
In Albudeite the voice of women has a sweet rhythm, an unparalleled cadence.
But you also show off traditions that have only survived on this earth like the Burning of Judas or La Enramada.
As a great albuitero would say among the greats of Murcian literature, our dear poet Soren Peñalver: "The truth is in the insistence."
Symbol of that care for history is this poplar that we have here in front of us, in which justice was once given and around which we met today to welcome the patron saint festivities of this 2019 and establish with you the commitment of the Government of Murcia to support you so that Albudeite does not become a childhood memory for adults who end up living elsewhere.
We are honored to be here today, together with the candidates for Queens of the parties and the candidates to be the first Majo elected in Albudeite.

This celebration is today a golden opportunity to mark a before and after.
We will celebrate with music, brass bands, tracas, bells and the wish that our parties are getting better and more crowded.
