The extensive damage caused by theft paralyzed the activity of the company Campos del Río
The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'CONSERVERA', established to investigate the commission of a burglary in a company of Campos del Río, culminating in the dismantling of a criminal group based in Albudeite and dedicated to the theft of copper.
The operation, part of the 'Plan against theft in agricultural and livestock farms', and the 'Plan Copper Theft', helped to clarify the offense of robbery, in which a large amount of copper was stolen, and the location and allocation of the six members of the criminal group.
Last January, members of the ROCA Team (burglary in the field) initiated the operation to investigate the commission of a burglary committed in a company of Campos del Río, in which the authors subtracted lot of copper and caused substantial damage to property.
They dismantled transformers and generators
The technical-ocular inspection conducted by researchers allowed to determine that, for subtracting the so-called red gold, the authors used a special brutality against commercial facilities.
During the robbery they dismantled transformers and generators, and stole cables and copper coils, causing damage worth more than 50,000 euros, as well as some alarm among the members of canning and agriculture of the region, because it caused the stoppage time of the activities of the company concerned.
Evidence from theft, as well as inspections conducted in junkyards, directed research to a group of people residing in Albudeite, which may lie behind the authorship of the crime.
Also allowed to recover 155 kilos of copper from the company which had already been sold.
From the investigation it appears that members of the criminal group selected affected by proximity to their homes company, building secondary roads, as highways and roads, well known to them, allowing them to transport objects with certain tranquility.
Also acted overnight to avoid suspicion.
In recent days and after obtaining necessary evidence, the Civil Guard has located and charged six members of the criminal group suspected of the crime of burglary.
The Spanish suspects, aged between 19 and 45 years, residents of Albudeite, along with recovered effects and the proceedings have been brought before the Magistrate's Court in Mula (Murcia).
The operation was carried out by members of the ROCA Team Northwest Region, which have had the collaboration of ROCA Team Murcia.
