The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas, recently signed with the mayor of Albudeite, Jesus Garcia Martinez, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Social Services Mula River, a collaboration agreement to provide early intervention services to about 200 children up to 6 years.
The agreement between the Murciano Institute of Social Action and the Commonwealth of Social Mula River, which includes the municipalities of Albudeite, Bullas, Mula and Pliego Services, implies that the Community will provide 132,640 euros.
Early attention is critical for child development because it offers flexibility as to the assessment of cases.
Thus, after a consensual diagnosis of the child, the case is referred to the specific department to begin treatment as soon as possible, explained Thomas Violante.
Its main objective is that children who have developmental disorders receive care from preventive and welfare aspect to enhance their development capacity and enable their family and social integration and personal autonomy.
Stimulation in early intervention is for children with transient or permanent therapeutic needs arising from limitations, changes in development or showing symptoms of allergies.
The service includes prevention programs and diagnostics;
therapeutic intervention by sensory or motor, cognitive, motor, speech and auditory stimulation;
as well as socio-emotional or family environment performances.
The Region has 32 specific centers spread in the 23 most populated municipalities, which bring together almost 90 percent of the population.
